A lineup of Edge Theory Bot characters representing different automated workflows

Bots / built around your rules

Let the bot run.
Keep the evidence in view.

Design your rules with Pulse, test without a daily limit, then choose Simulated or supported Live execution. Keep the bot's recorded behaviour beside the range you tested.

Live trading can lose money. Availability depends on the Bot, plan, exchange connection and account.

EDGE THEORY · AUTOMATION

What traders run into

Automation is easy to promise.
Harder to stay accountable.

These are familiar points of friction in bot trading. Here is how Edge Theory addresses them—without asking you to take a backtest or an AI answer on faith.

01

Bot builders make you learn the tool before you can express the trade.

Describe the setup in your own words. Pulse asks up to three questions, shows its assumptions and builds rules the strategy engine supports.

Built
02

Testing is rationed, so each change feels expensive.

No daily backtest limit on any plan, including Free. The preview runs again when you edit a rule.

Built
03

Perfect fills can flatter a historical result.

Simulated trades include fees and slippage; perpetual strategies include funding costs. The result stays labelled simulated.

Built
04

A strong backtest can be luck or overfitting.

Evidence Lab challenges a saved version with random entries, unseen data and trial history, then gives a reasoned A–F robustness grade.

Built
05

AI can make choices without showing what it assumed.

Pulse writes assumptions down and refuses requests for promised returns. You can read and change the rules before choosing how to run them.

Built
06

A strategy can be difficult to move to another tool.

Strategy export for TradingView, MT4, MT5, NinjaTrader 8 and Freqtrade is in development; it is not available yet.

07

A bot can keep running after its behaviour has changed.

For simulated bots with a saved Evidence Lab baseline, compare recorded results with the tested range and opt in to below-range alerts.

Built

Two modes. One clear choice.

Know what happens when you press Run.

Simulated and Live are separate execution modes. An exchange connection does not activate a Bot or switch its mode.

01SIMULATED

Practise with simulated activity.

Review simulated orders, positions and recorded results without sending orders to an exchange. Simulated Bot access is included on every plan; individual Bot types still follow their plan access.

02LIVE · WHERE SUPPORTED

Connect your own exchange account.

Supported Strategy Bots can use a Live connection from Pro+. Some specialist Bot types require Elite+. Your API key must have withdrawals disabled; Edge Theory does not hold member funds.

Your account · trade-only permissions

Live trading can result in losses. Check the Bot, market, plan, exchange connection and permissions before activation.

The Bot lineup

Different jobs.
Clearly marked access.

Start with a strategy you designed, select a systematic workflow or choose a supported arbitrage route. Planned features are labelled as planned.

A plan grants access to eligible features. It does not activate a Bot or guarantee that every strategy, exchange or route is supported for Live execution.

After activation

The record stays attached to the Bot.

Automation should make activity easier to review, not harder to see.

Tested range

For simulated Bots with a saved Evidence Lab baseline, compare recorded results with the tested range. Below-range events can trigger an alert.

Your exchange connection

Your funds stay on your exchange.

Edge Theory connects to supported exchange accounts for eligible Live workflows. Keys are trade-only, with withdrawals disabled. Elite and Exclusive members can connect more exchanges Live.

Supported access depends on the selected Bot, connection adapter, account and plan.

Why we challenge the backtest

A good-looking backtest can still tell you very little.

A 2016 study compared the backtests and out-of-sample performance of 888 trading algorithms. Its findings on overfitting and repeated testing are one reason Edge Theory keeps testing, trial history and uncertainty visible.

Start with the rules

Build a Bot you can still question.

Start free in Simulated mode. Move to Live only when the Bot, plan and exchange connection support it—and after you have reviewed the setup.

Simulated results are not Live results. Historical testing does not predict future performance.
